I bet your all wondering what happened to the Ryan.
If not... why are you reading this....
So, I give you this topic.
One the 23rd of december of 2009, you witnessed me very angry at the world... Well, I just wanted to let you know I haven't dyed my hair black, joined a cult or cut myself. I'm not emo
I think you all missed the fact I wrote that my little dog was hit and killed on the 23rd of december because no one said anything. Well, on saturday the 2nd, of this month, I got a new puppy. It's a peekapoo. We bought him from amish people who practically lived on a mountain in the middle of no where (You gotta love Westren NY ). He's a nice little boy. When I say little I mean LITTLE. HE can't even jump up on the couch yet.
Also, on Christmas day, my fish had 3 babies
No lie. Outta no where my sister said MOLLY HAD BABIES! (Molly is the name of the only surviving fish I had. Fin rot swept through the tank like an epidemic. Very quick. We had to quarantine Molly. She's named after he breed, the Dalmation Molly. Mollies have live babies. They are growing nicely.
And finally, I'm making my own program! Yes, like scripting and coding. For you smarter admins, it's in VB.net language. One day I just was like I wanna make something. So I opened up Visual Basic 2005 and started playing around. I'm now making my own program. The official thread for it is here: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index ... topic=9432
It's a dispatch simulation, like for emergency services. You know how I told you I want to be a firefighter/cop? Yeah, I love this stuff. This program is basically only for another game community (which is called Emergency 4 for PC). So, if you don't understand it, that's ok, Kat didn't
I'm also considering using Twitter.. just in case you guys wanna know what I'm always thinking and doing...
So that's pretty much it. I know, this post was deep. But you guys are like family. 3 CHEERS FOR SPUD!!!!

huge benifit of the police department is the pennsion. Yeah i know your a bit young to worry about this but the ability to retire after only 25 to 30 years at full pay for the rest of your life is pretty damn cool.

VB.NET IS FOR NUBS!
C# IS WHERE IT'S at.
oh and along the line's of the fire service nerdyr-dom, have you ever though about getting a pager, you pick up programmable pager's and change the cap code's and you can recieve the update's the fire service member's get.
To recieve Fire service Radio transmissions you just need a VHF scanner, Uniden make some pretty cheap unit's that work very well, these will most likely recieve police transmissions in the US, in australia we have a digital system and you need trunking radio's (400+) to follow them.
offtopic: i'm planning on borrowing one of my cousin's digital scanners, and Plundering the airwave's for vocal samples to use in music. you could probably plunder these for sound sample's for your games

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. My county broadcasts on 800 MHZ trunked analog frequencies. I don't need a trunker to pick it up though.

Ah yep, so there's no reason to own a digital trunking one up there?
My cousin has like 8 radio's he's got an antenna he took off a phone tower.

Just not in my county yet. In fact, the county next to me just switched to P25 digital. But there are tons of places that have gone digital. Like major FBI locations.

It was off a de constructed phone tower, it's an amazing antenna.
He's convincing me to build a 400 meter ground loop antenna for a shortwave radio.
check out http://www.scanningtasmania.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl
possibly the most knowledgeable forum on scanning and radio's on the planet. no idiot's or arsehole's. my cousin is finch.

i still don't like C# as a system as much as anyting else because of the weird translator subsystem thingy. FK i can't even remember what it's called anymore.
I've probably forgotten half of what i learned now. Time to start again.

Re: An update on my life...
You mean how it compiles it into an intermediate language that's run by another program? Meh, it works fine imo. It only really affects performance with high powered things like 3D games, and even then I've heard it doesn't really...
Also makes it easier to port it to different kinds of computers. One build will run anywhere, instead of having to recompile it to different processor architectures like you would in C/C++. Although that doesn't mean much anymore.... I'll be quite now

i'd rather work With universal code and then compile it seperately.
