For those of you that remember I was doing reviews for a site called 8BitRebels.com well to make a long story short I now have my own site and am just about ready to start doing reviews and a video show once again. If you want to check it out head over to http://AskRealGamers.com Currently there's not much there in the way of reviews as I'm at grad school and therefore don't have room for an actual TV set. I have everything running through my monitor on my computer. I just got an HD camera and will soon be getting a device to capture in 480 and 720p. Thus, my show will be entirely in at least 480p when I'm doing all the segments.

If you want to see the camera I got check it out here. May be a budget camera but I gotta say it's pretty impressive for the price. I'll do a review of it, my new and old capture device and the component to VGA converter I got at some point as well.

If you are interested in trying your hand at reviewing particularly if you can capture video (esp in HD) pm me and let me know and I'll tell you what I need to see from you. Even if you just want to try written reviews that's fine. There's an article submission system on the site.

Also if you guys have any ideas on segments I can do in the show let me know either here or via PM. Right now I'm looking at doing a news, viewer/ reader mail and review section, but I'm sure there is more than that that I can do.

oh and how is the zi8? i was looking into getting one of those for general video camera use, how do they work in low level lighting? like a dim-ish room?

My bro and one of his friends are actually working on a intro for the show right now. Like a 30 second clip. If you want to try making an intro 15 to 30 secs for the show or podcast go right ahead. Though I'm not sure exactly what it should feel like, we can discuss via pm if you are up for it.

I do have 3 quick vid tests http://askrealgamers.com/boards/index.p ... 679#msg679 but they mainly concentrate on the macro mode, which I gotta say works pretty well. I haven't had time to really put it through it's paces just yet when it comes to lighting but once I do I'll let you know.

he such prolific poster, and very opinionated and very passionate. i was diggining the back and forth merits and arguments. though i might have missed the jist of the post here maybe.

any way let us know when your site is up and chruning. I would offer to review but i have so much on my plate. if i own a game no one wants to review and you dont have a deadline i would be say your forth or fith striing for text. i dont have a camera to record with so i might not be a go to guy for you here.

good luck to anyone who wants to help. I really dont have the time either right now. i am supposed to be studying for the MCSA/ E serries of exams and have just gotten half way ready for the 70/270 ( xp exam ) this is going to be a long haul for me.

they loaded right up for me..... sounds like a bandwidth issue, prolly a heavy load server side..... or all of tb's neighbors are online when hes trying to open it up

I'm betting he was past bandwidth or it was Youtube. I've actually never seen the server the site is on being very slow, but that's Host Gator for you, they are pretty good hosts.

Edit: So any ideas on what other segments we can have? I'm thinking news and a review of course, but beyond that, maybe a roundtable of some type.... And reader/ viewer mail.

I looked at the site Vash its pretty cool. I liked the video review of punch out. I played the orignal Punnch out and was not very good at it. I was 8 or 9 at the time lol. It was really good. I didn't hear much about the game but it looked like fun.
