Try out Windows 7 The BETA

Try out Windows 7 The BETA

Postby MichaelVash7886 » Wed Jan 14, 2009 6:19 pm

BE WARNED. THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE LIKE A PS3 GAME BETA. You will most likely run into bugs and there will be problems. If you are going to try this, USE A SPARE PC or PARTITION YOUR HARD DRIVE, better yet use a spare HDD, preferably IDE. I know some will cry, but I HATE IDE, but Windows likes it a lot better from my experience.

With that out of the way I'm going to be downloading this and checking it out. Any questions about beta's ask here.

To try it out: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... nload.aspx

To Partition your hdd: http://easeus-partition-manager-home-ed ... rchive.org OR http://www.download.com/CompuApps-Swiss ... d=10485574

your welcome vash...lol

And I would recommend using a totally different hard drive, since it's dangerous to repartition a hard drive with stuff on it, and without losing the stuff.
Personally, mine wouldn't run IE..now it does..lol And ya gotta love the beta fish desktop..

Is repartitioning really that bad?

Edit: Looks like I'll need to buy a second one anyways as my current HDD is SATA and Windows installer doesn't like that generally.

I know a guy that has a 200 GB IDE drive he doesn't need so I'm going to get that then install it on that. So it'll probably be a week or so.

As for the warning didn't want someone being all, I'll install Windows 7 as my main OS!!!!!!! And then a week later it die and they have to reformat.

The iso is downloading now.

Correct you are. But I figure that's plenty of time to see how I like it.

Ive tried it. Its basically Vista with the current SP using less memory. See honestly i absolutely love Vista Home Premium 64, but im also running Intel. If you do your research damn near all current Vista problems are for the 32 version and are also AMD related. But that another story. Personally i like 7 but i dont think theyre gonna release this for another 2 years, that was the problem with Vista it was rushed.

If they are ending the beta in August I'd expect it out the end of this year or early next. There seems to be some differences between the two.

And it's not Vista, just the same style. There's a lot that's changed, but you have to look for it..and I've had so many problems with vista...go mac! lol
