Ok from the TT Thread that has his pictures and talk about jellies and snakes i present.

http://picasaweb.google.com/ptatman/BorisTheSpider

really really be careful if you mess around with poisnious animals. be ready to kill or make a quick run to the hospital if you engage. I am not telling anyone to go out and do this. I just knew i could capture or kill this wihtout endagnering my self or rushing the emergency ward. just saying.

I laughed when you talked about your spider guts stick. I Kept it to have the bug man identify it 100% i wanted absolute verification that i have a population of these nasty bugs in my area. Sadlly i do. but if i keep destroying webs apparetly they get the hint and move along to greener pastures.

venomous is one thing but , and my wife jumps me about this, but wolf spiders and gartter snakes I let be as they eat other insects. I hate killing unless i feel its in self presveration type situation. I kill all mice and rats as rabies and the plague are a bummer. thats way i almost have a softspot for rat sankes. which as far as i rember do not have rattles so for my specific region i can affort to let one slide. I do feel bad for the Diamond back rattlers on the highway. they dont have a chance and they sit in a tight coil with the head up and fangs out. oh well. I kill an average of at least one mouse or more infrequently rats a month . as the rain has been heavy i have had 3 mice and no rats in the past week. not only disease but when they get traped in your houses frame work inside the drywall just prey its not summer becase decomposition takes at least two stinky weeks

Well, you dont got to be a bug man to tell that was a spider

Yeah, as im in construction we sometimes have to go under houses (actually we go under house about everyday i guess) anyway, since i hate spiders (this is where i get really smart) I make my hired help go under first!! Not sure they realize im using them to flush out the nasties, but then I'll poke my head under and if it looks all clear i will go under, but if it looks really bad infested i will just lay out on the ground and yell directions to them and that they are doing a good job and dont need me under there.

Thats pretty sneaky, if I worked for you I would get fired for refusing to go under until you did, well I would now because I know your strategy.

your making me laugh tonight.

Fish. i would not go as far as phobia but i remember climbing underneath my gramar school as a child and running around beneath the foundation. we stubmbled upon what i can only put into words as a cockroach nest blob. it had to be thousands all huddled up. so with about 8 friends standing there talking i did the reasonable thing and picked up a rock and threw it dead center into the nest. nothing funnier then children seqeualing in terror coverd in roaches. :)

I hate killing unless it is in self preservation. I hate to kill things bigger than ants unless it is about to kill or mangle me, or I am starving and lost in the middle of nowhere.

that is very budahsit good going. I just had to go outside and help a baby bird my wife found. Greyhounds are hounds if there is a animal in 100 meters they know. any way i got lucky i found a nest in a low tree. looked old but it was better then leaving it on the ground. and yes i used latex gloves so as not to get my man stink on it

You should have seen all the things I have had to help at my trailer. The list includes two birds, a bat, a salamander, several snakes and a turtle. I liked the bat and turtle the best because nobody ever sees them up close. Also we had a pet squirrel, dozens of pet frogs and a bunch of pet snakes.

did the bat live? that one would seem the toughest to try and keep alive

Ya the bat had a broken wing and we found it in our boat, we set up an aquarium and put bugs in it, the bat flew out after a few days when its wing was better.

I hate how people think bats are ugly creatures. Their actually pretty well cute I guess. They look like a gerbil with wings.

Well if you want to talk about bats, I happen to be a member of Central Oklahoma Grotto and the National Spieliological Society. We do bat counts in western oklahoma, mainly at Alabastern Caverns State Park , and at the Selman Ranch at Freedom Ok. We mainly have Myotis Vellifers (which i believe have the softest fur of any mammal) and Eastern red Pipistrelle (little bitty loners that arch their back when you pet them). At the Selman Ranch we have a Mexican Freetail Cave and at dusk the bat flights are awesome. We also Surveyed a gypsum cave on the Selman Ranch that made it into the top 10 largest gypsum caves. People are really misinformed about bats, they do NOT dive at you, if you are in a cave they are simply dropping from the ceiling and getting up airspeed to fly, they know where you are and want nothing to do with you, so dont be a sissy and scream and start running. One of my coolest expieriences was standing in a cave chamber with hundreds of bats flying around me.(I was like the titanic chick with arms spread out and they would come within inches) it was just so cool that they flew close enough to actually feel the air move as they went past.
