Warhawk Practice

Practice strategy, very important, all discuss

Practice strategy, very important, all discuss

Postby DWOMT » Sun Sep 21, 2008 1:48 am

I continued this from the previous thread for the MXG battle:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=820

I have an idea. I think I know how we can mesh together as a team. And yes we do need to commit to practicing. Not just saying we're gonna do it. I think we need to do several rounds of different scenarios. Like CTF, Collection, Zones, Hero, Dogfights, etc etc. I noticed when we did the Dogfight match only, it was easy to tell who our pilots are and who aren't. I think by running different scenarios like that we can pinpoint who's good at what and make that their assigned roles. So here's my step by step idea:

Step 1: Practice server during the week/weekends. Run different scenarios (CTF, Collection, Hero, Zones, Dogfight). Examples, dogfight only server will determine who the pilots are and who aren't. In the other scenarios do battles where we can only use jeeps. Another scenario where we can only use tanks, another scenario would be to see who are good flag carriers. Stuff like that. See who's a sniper, who's good at stealth. We'll have to try everything to see what talents we all have.

Step 2: Once the roles are pinned down it'll be easy to practice with some real battle situations. We can practice by breaking off into two teams. For example, the two SPUD teams will run a CTF scenario with each player having their assigned roles. We can simulate an attack where one SPUD team base rapes the other SPUD's home base. This will be a good way to practice on how to break a base rape and secure another zone. I think we need to run our clan through such hardcore situations that way we can learn to operate together in a situation like that. The assigned roles will help out a lot. Pilots, tank gunners, jeep drivers, snipers etc etc will know what they need to do.

I just realized this is a lot of info. I want you guys to add on your ideas. I think running through practice gauntlets is the only way we'll be able to eventually match the aggressiveness that MXG destroyed us with earlier. One thing we cannot lose though is to have fun. Having fun and playing with strategy will make us dangerous.

Once again I agree with you DW, I am really tired of getting base raped so bad it gets to the point of "why even bother respawning"

Its a great idea and needs to be done, but everyone needs to commit.

DW damn striaght. ok we know and did some prelimanary things but as a whole we dont have assignments and know what to do and when to stay put. yes in the competive sense we have a long way to go. I can do a 1/2 hour a night but it needs to be around 8:30 or 9pm CST

You are not being bossy but are offering well thought out senseible propositions. Nice ideas. I am ok with all of them.

we need to when competeing have a plan. this is bitting us severely in the but as we saw last night. MXG operated in all modes with practiced efficency that just blew us out of the water having had no plan and or practice as a squad.

funny thing about last night no one knew which maps or modes i was going to have up. they played like that wihtout knowing map or mode. wow.

Fish: yah i agree

TB: 9:00 cst is a little late for me cuz for some reason my mom has gotten REALLY strict about the stuff i do. 8:00 or even 7:00 would be ideal for me cuz i'd have all my homework done and my mom wouldn't keep nagging me to go to sleep and messing up my game play lol.

DW: i think for the sniper training we should make an unranked room and just take turns at being targets and snipers. we could have (depending on the number of ppl taht show up) around 3 or 4 ppl who are targets, some of who are stationary and some who are just moving around, and 2 or 3 snipers who will try to kill the the targets and the ppl who have the most kills in the game wiht the sniper rifle will be our snipers.

for jeeps we should have races with 2 or 3 ppl in planes/turrets shooting at the jeeps, and we should have like three rounds and whoever makes it to the finish line alive the most would be our jeep guys.

for tanks we should just have a couple ppl in tanks and a few ppl flyign and whoever hits the most planes with their tank would be tank ppl cuz if you can hit a plane in a tank you could probably hit anything lol

so we should just do stuff like that on different maps, that way we can easily figure out who is good at what and assign roles, while gettign in some practice.

Wow thanks for all the input guys, and thanks for the support. I really liked WHO's idea about having jeep races where they are being chased by Warhawks, that way we can see who our jeep drivers are. Excellent idea! We'll definitely try that one. I am gonna announce a practice date, so watch this forum guys.

dodging around and keeping your heading can be difficult in jeep being hunted by hawks. the most important part is to know where the repair cogs are and to have a wrench and know your map with out using the minimap. in my oppinion. but yeah i am on board with jeep races and practice.
