Network 807101102 sever DNS issues and hlep

ok i got this which crippled my Warhawk hostig ability. this is somthing i found on PS3 net that sounds like it might help

did massive searching before i decided to actually register and try to explore the same problem. im pretty sure naughty's method is the correct way but if you are a computer newbie how do you go about finding the information to enter the information manually? i run a wired connection from a dsl modem. any suggestions?

go on your computer ,click start,click run (assuming your using Xp) type cmd in run box a black window pops up , in that box type ipconfig/all hit enter you will need the default gateway ,subnet mask,and dns1&dns2 (take note of your computers ip just so you no what to use on ps3 . ip looks like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx numbers will be in place of the x's in the last three x's is where you go a number higher than the computers ip for ps3 note* if you have more than 1 computer your last 3 numbers may have to go higher yet

this worked but i dont like the way its worded. i had to go back and manually enter the info in the network setting.

checking warhawk now to see if it fixed. i am hoping a update put this into auto and messed me up. :-)

my CMD ipconfig was giving me garbage. loging into my router gave me the info for the

iphost
gateway on most machines defulats to 255.255.255.0 so that was not unexpected.

second dns that i needed


Dont celebrate yet hip. F**** < a bad word. i am not getting the host strength iused to yet. i am going to reboot my router and my ps3 and switch. < out of oder.

first off to elimate problems, hook your ps3 up straight off the line coming in to your house, right off your modem, skip the router, set up your network settings again in your ps3, and see if you have gained anything.


(we will do this one step at a time if we have to)

ha. hey cool. ahhh i have a problem with that. my game equipment is upstaris and my modem drop is ina electric box in the utility room. ha. but yeah my subnet is 254.254.254.0

i manually set all the setttings again. no love. gawwwwwwwd somthing is killing my favorite game.

I think your goofing somewhere in entering the settings manually......how do you get a subnet of 254.254.254.0 ? makes no sense , whats your IP
