HELP!!!!!! computer and ps3 problems..

yo..
i have finally an ps3 here, but no TV, so i've been able to hook up my ps3 with my laptop, using an video capture device and ''powerdirector 9'' software.
my only problem now is that the image i get is black/white and about 7 cm wide and 6 cm high.. and thats not what i want ofcourse.

any one who can help me with that, becoz i cant find an solution..
oh and tv's here are pretty expensive.

What about a used computer monitor and headphones. I've never tried to input to a laptop
