Oh yeah the classic asimo fail, see the problem with asimo is that all the motion's are preset, they aren't designed or figured out on the spot. He works like animation in a video game, so when something isn't right, he isn't able to react and adapt to the situation.

Which is surprising, considering they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and years making it, yet they can't program it properly...

Just you wait.
they've had robot's who can figure there way around things since 1983, the problem was that they took 4 hours to figure out how they should move 1 foot. 3d hardware acceleration didn't really exist then...

R2D2 could easily be made. Just no one has... the problem is something like a person, like C3PO..

the only reason people still try to build bipedal robot's is simply because that's what human environments are built around. they are horrible designs for robot's otherwise
