GB sign up idea

Hey I just realized something, and it may help us a bit better with balancing out our GB teams. Remember how we started to create commander slots and rosters for the pilots and ground pounders?

Well why not put a similiar idea for GB battles? I say this because I noticed in some of the GBs we're signing up for, the ground pounders get to the sign up before pilots are, so we're being left with one or two pilots in a fight, when we all know the other teams will swarm at us with air domination. I say we need to balance out what we're signing up.

Maybe we should throw in so many sign up slots for ground pounders, and so many slots for pilots. That way it's balanced out, and nobody from each roster gets left out.

thanks fish. it's not to exclude anyone, and i am not proposing this idea to favor the pilots, I just want this to be fair to everyone and keep it balanced. If we go charging into a Gb fight unbalanced we're gonna get slaughtered. I think that's what caused us to lose before. So say for example we're gonna do an 8vs8 against another clan. That means we should have 4 ground pounders and 4 pilots. Get what I mean everyone?

cuz even though there is a gp majority i would think that they all wanna play and if we make it 4 and 4 we would have to kick some gp's or sometimes even air squad ppl out of the game. and i think that isn't fair.

also if there is an uneven number of air and ground ppl then ppl like me (with lower skills) would be left out of challenges

i personally think first come first serve is the best policy because it gives everyone a chance. and if someone is willing to drop and give up their space to someone else then i think thats fine but if someone wants to play and we don't allow them then i think that kinda goes against what we stand for.

if there is more to the deciding system though i would like to hear it because i do think some aspects of the idea are good.

btw i hope no one takes offense to anything i'm just stating my opinion

But if we have an 8 vs 8 then why not have 4 gp slots open and 4 air slots open, first come first serve until those slots are filled, then the others are subs, but say if 6 gp's signed up and only 2 air signed up then the open air slots would go to the 2 gp subs and vice versa?

no no WHO, I am not saying anyone would be kicked. Ok here's an example:

Say you're announcing a GB battle. This is how it would look:

"Ok everyone we need signs up for this GB battle, it will be an 8vs8 against Spartan Army"

Roster:

4 Pilot Slots:

4 Ground Pounder slots:

Sign up!


Then when people start signing up it could look like something like this:

Pocket
Vegito
Moe__Dog

4 Ground Pounder Slots:
WHO
Cloud
Fish
TB

Subs:
2 back up pilots are I3lue and Vash
2 back up ground guys are Noodlez and stickcult


See what I am getting at WHO? It's still first come first serve, it's just with more organized slots. Nobody is kicked, and it's not based on who is the best, it's just based on being balanced. Plus with other GBs being announced, everyone still gets a chance to sign up for a fight.

Makes sense to me...but if it's a day or two before the match it should be a strict rule if we still need players. Though that shouldn't be a problem..

And who, it's still a first come-first in the roster thing like it already is, unless the team is unbalanced. At least, that's how I understand it.

no the current rosters stay the same since people already signed up. It's not fair to change them. I was thinking of applying the new template for the upcoming GB sign ups. What do you think of the template WHO? It's still first come first serve, it's more balanced, and even the sub slots are based on pilot/ground back ups. I think it can work. If you still don't like it let me know. I value your opinion and would take no offense to it.

lets say 5 gp's sign up would 4 go onto the roster and the other one into the sub spot??

yes, but if only 3 pilots signed up then that sub would take a pilot spot

yeah, the left over ground pounder automatically goes into a sub ground pounder slot. If it's game day and a pilot slot hasn't filled, then the ground pounder gets bumped up.

I think this new idea works because if we march into a GB battle against a clan that likes to fly, and we send in 6 ground pounders and 2 pilots we'll get murdered.

btw fish is there a way that you could make an alternate way onto the website. like 2 urls or something cuz my f*cking school blocked this site from the comps and now that i'm finished with all the work in my comp class i got tons of free time lol and i'd liek to check out the site when i'm bored

Yeah, I have had a site in the works for awhile.....but then put it aside to gather dust.....but since you talked about wanting to do some in house stuff and since everyone is gettin pissed at GB the dust is being shaken off and tryin to get it done but with its own domain....its almost an exact copy of GB....but I still need a week or so.

I have read through every post and agree with what is being done. With that being said, almost 100% of the time, the team that controls the air controls the map. Air superiority is key in this game in my opinion. This is why I think it is vital for the ground pounders to attend the dogfight practices and seek out the top pilots in this clan to improve their skills. I personally will work with anyone who wants help in any aspect of flying. I specialize in normal flight. I am in no way trying to down play the role a ground pounder plays. You guys are vital and necessary for success, but if another team brings all pilots to a game battle, us air dudes are going to need the GP's to help. Weather it be sniping air mines down, using rpg's, manning the turrets, or hopping in a plane, we will need you.

exactly. It's no offense to you RRB guys who have been in GBs before I came along, but marching into a GB with 2 pilots and all ground pounders is suicide. It's nothing against ground guys as they are vital to win, but Warhawk is an air battle game and the team controlling the air will 90% of the time win the match. So ground guys should get air practice, and vice versa for pilots to get ground practice.

Say we are doing an 8vs8, and we have 4 pilots and 4 ground guys. The other clan then comes at us with 6 pilots and 2 ground guys. Well obviously we're outnumbered in the air, unless 2 of our ground guys can do some type of flying and jump up into the air to help even it, at least until the skies are under control. That's how to win a fight in a GB. I don't want to be slaughtered, I want to win.

dude i really wanna learn how to fly better. also i'm a turret monkey so i'm good with that. if you guys want i can also grab a rifle and snipe airmines like pocket said. i can't really show up to our practices that are on weekdays cuz i got stuff to do and normally our practices are kinda late. but if i can make dogfight practices i'll try
