yeah our gas is down to 3.69, i would like to see 5.00/gallon gas, maybe 6.00, just to maybe force someone into some action, the technology is there, just need to get off their lazy asses and do something different

I am not evean talking about what you can afford i am kind of thinking about the finite supply of the fuel. no one really seems to have a good plan / RnD in the works to replace the current infrastructure for the new fuel once we start to deplete the oil from what it can sustain. India and China are going to put huge demands on the supply in the coming years.

That's what i'm talking about. Gas won't last forever, and if gas is still only $4, then people will continue using gas guzzling vehicles (SUVs and some vans, trucks). If it stays around $4, people are just gonna complain, but if it gets up to $5 or $6, people will stop driving such big vehicles. Not that I'm saying that no one should have a big van or something, but not one that gets 15 mpg.

That is kind of what i am saying now that is back to the aggravating price of 3.6 something I am afraid people will not be as interested in new fuel technology.

a bit off topic here, but how did the term "gas" come about, petroleum is a liquid

Except for Canada, most current or former Commonwealth countries use the word "petrol", abbreviated from petroleum spirit. In North America, the word "gasoline" is commonly used, where it is often shortened in colloquial usage to "gas." Even though it is not a genuinely gaseous fuel like liquefied petroleum gas.

Ok so as of today we are at $1.74 a gallon here in SE KS, when i went to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving it was $1.59 there.
I have heard MO is down to $1.43.

So where does it bottom out? And what are your current prices?
