XMB dashboard / sys update 3.0?

ok. the database linking updating thing was spooky and now the icons look funky but at least it did not Brick or YLOD my Ps3

anyone else have any thoughts?

Im not liking the friends list either. But web browser is working better and I like the time date thing. Accessing the store from games and vids is kinda pointless.

Ha i think its unanimous. I don’t really like the buddy list change either. Not sure why they tweaked that. I have not seen any in depth posts about what was done behind the scenes.

For games my Jedi force game keeps taunting me to delete my game saves for trophies. Not sure that’s going to happen. That last stage was a beast.

The tatoine level is sweet but I am not sure It would be justifiable 9 buck purchase for everyone.

I liked the evil side of the tree twist it gives you compared to the happy add on that they previously released.

Star wars game i was talking about is the Star wars Force unleashed.

I think who was talking about the new KOTOR MMO. not sure how i fee about that as iam not a huge MMO miner. < meaning one who digs up minerals not a underage child.

although i am eagerly anticipating the DIablo III release whenever it is ready.

idk you hunt for and assemble gear and imediately its weker then your enimies. but to me its a hack fest. screw the ability tree :_)

MY OPINION:

3/5. Yeah it's decent. The only flaw is indeed the friend's list. I don't understand the need for grey bars. I like the little "taskbar" though. It lets me know when I have a message. The sparkles are fun, and the startup music is better IMO. As for the multiple links to the store, they don't bug me. I guess I'm the only one who isn't bitchin' 'bout this update

you sound like you have paid more attention to the detils then the rest of us curmudgens :-) i actually dig the new advertisemnet / info boble that populates with recent games adn or news. there should be a real time feed you could connect to.

Now if we could custimize the friends list to any color or texture like brick wall or stain glass or something like that it'd be really nice. Even old school if you don't like the border.

how is eveyone adding a color shade to thier avatar. the picture thing is interesting. i was more curious to see how it streams Netflix movies. I dont like the fact i have to put a disc in each time i want to watch somthing. i do not have to do that on the xbox. i just have to be online.

First to change your color go on you profile then go to your name at the top of the friends list hit x it will sync then hit x again to change your color. You will need a disc to use netflix but only till next year. I don't know why exactly but thats what i've been told.

cool thanks for the tip on changing the color. Idont get the netflix disc need. its funny the xbox was flawless with that streaming but i am shocked that i have to have that disc on hand if i want to stream somthing. ugh. gald to hear they are updating this interface. having to put a disc in to stream a movie is silly. it works just fine its on par with the xbox streaming but damn that disc based interface is clunky.

They said it was faster then a firmware update. Ethier it was too big or the need to integrate it in slowly the guy was very vague. But thats his job say as little as possible and commit to nothing lol.
