Another practice idea...
I just brain stormed another practice idea, and I want to see what you guys think of it.
I was envisioning a.....Pilots vs Ground Prounders practice!
Now before anyone goes "Pilots will base rape us!"...hear me out lol.
I was thinking it would be an even playing field. We could do some rounds where pilots are all on one team, and ground pounders all on the other. Maybe for example one round will be all ground war where the pilot team has to fight together on the ground to defeat the ground pounders. Then another round will be 100% air, except the ground pounders have to work together to beat the pilots. Then another round where it'll be Warhawks vs whatever the ground pounders can come up with from the ground to stop incoming Warhawks.
What do you guys think? Yes it does set up some slaughter situations, but what better way to learn than to get beat? Pilots getting smacked around while in a ground only fight, and vice versa for ground pounders to all be up in the air against the pilots. Not only could this be fun, but a good way to teach team work and strategy among the teams, and an interesting way for people to learn other skills. As a pilot I would love to get my butt kicked by ground pounders that way I can see how they fight so well on the ground.
Any input, your opinions, and any ideas you want to implement into this is appreciated guys.

i really like the idea and wanna play. but, like you said, the pilots will completely rape the gp's if its air vs ground or air vs air. but still sounds like a fun idea
btw did we ever do that thing where we were going to host up servers with things like jeep races, jeep races with warhawks firing at them, sniper training, missile dodging, attacking while flying, etc. etc.?? or did we ditch that idea cuz i still really wanna play that

I honestly forgot about the jeep racing stuff. Thanks for reminding me. I am gonna try to start that up again.
As for your response about the Pilot vs GP practice. I don't blame you for worrying about pilots destroying the GP. But..there is always a way to win a battle, and that's what this practice will help with. I'll explain.....
I don't know if you or anyone else ever played the PC game Starcraft back in the day. It's a very Strategy based game with air power and ground power. I would use massive amounts of air units to dominate anyone I played in the game, and I'd win. However, I'd encounter players who would beat me with groud forces only, because as all good military commanders know.....everything has a weakness and there's always a way to win. When I'd launch massive air power at a player pinned down with only ground units, he'd find weaknesses in my air units, and use the talents of his ground units to defeat me.
To say this briefly, the ground pounders can win. If 8 Warhawks are swarming a base, what do you do from the ground? Honestly if every gp manned a turret or flak cannon, if ever gp grabbed every rocket launcher they could..you guys would have the advantage. The moment flaks, turrets, and rockets all at the same time started blasting away at a group of Warhawks, the pilots will scatter allowing them to be picked off. It's all about strategy and timing, and I am hoping this practice can teach this. It could help in GB battles.

Ground pounders will destroy us pilots when we have to fight them on the ground in their turf without our Warhawks. What's the difference? It's a good way to learn from each other.

Not really hippo, if all the ground pounders carry RPG's then the pilots are going to be busy dodging them, and if one or two are on turrets, then thats more the pilots have to deal with

that's part of practicing. If we can practice such scenarios and the ground pounders can get the timing perfect...then our ground pounder team will be dangerous because they will know how to take out an air team with efficiency.

I agree with dwomt, ESPECIALLY in badlands. Though it would take alot more commanding for ground units.
Badlands has like 3 flak, 1 missile turret, 3 RPG spawns, 4 tanks, lots of grenades and flame throwers. Ever notice that many times, as soon as you pull out a RPG, WH's come lower to the ground? It takes luck/skill to grenade/flame them, but it should be possible.

Dude this is true genius lol. Im serious too no sarcasmn this helps improve not only ground anti air defence and stealth to keep away from air and gain bases and stuff but it also helps air get better at taking out turrets and rocket launcher soldiers plus a little missle dodging practice!

I think it's worth the try, it's only practice anyways.
and if it doesnt seem to work we can always go back to a normal practice routine during a second or 3rd round.

what night do you want to try. i think it may be evenly based dependin on available wepons. if the hawks run when they are low on health it makes it tough for the GP's to make true kills though.

Re: Another practice idea...
I've been doing some thinking about this ground vs air practice, and something else occurred to me. How about a scenario where ground pounders get to fly Warhawks against pilots on the ground defending themselves? That could open up some great practice opportunities. Here's some of the formats I was thinking of for a night of practice like this:
Round 1: All ground fight, pilots vs ground pounders on their turf
Round 2: All air war, ground pounders vs pilots on their turf
Then the roles switch:
Round 3: Ground Pounders in Warhawks attack pilots on the ground defending themselves
Round 4: Pilots in tanks only against ground pounders without tanks
See where I am going with this guys? My favorite is the ground pounders in the air attacking pilots who can only fight from the ground. I think our ground guys would absolutely love that kind of fight lol

this one would probably be a ground only fight. I'd probably switch it up. One match pilots in tanks against ground guys without tanks. Then flip it the next round with ground guys in tanks and pilots on foot fighting without tanks. It's a good way to show off skills, and learn ways to defend.
I wish maps had more dropships, an all out dropship battle would be awesome. Don't maps give 2 dropships per team? I wonder if everyone on a team could cram into the two dropships and go at it against the other teams two dropships.
