baserape practice idea

I know, the topic sounds funny lol. For next weeks practices I wanted to get creative again. I know in the past GBs I've done with you guys we found ourselves in a baserape situation. As a team we really need to work on ways to break out of it. I want to start practicing this now before the new GB season starts this month. We have a lot more added talent to the clan now, so I think we have a good shot.

What I want from you guys is what you think we need in a practice like this. I was thinking of picking teams blue and red like we are doing with tonight (friday night) practice simulating a GB. Then in one round the teams will purposely let the other team charge them at their main base with Warhawks and ground forces, and it'll be up to the team getting hammered to fight their way out. Then the next round we switch teams and do it again. Basically a rinse and repeat process. Maybe when the round starts one team will purposely not run out to capture any bases for 5 to 10 minutes while the other team rushes them to lay the hammer down on them. It's not only fun, but I think the team work and creativeness of it will help us break out of base rape situations.

Anything you guys want to add? I am thinking of doing this practice next week sometime.

I like the idea, in fact when I join a game I try to get on the team that is being raped just to see If I can stop it. What I usually try to do is just occupy the air forces while the ground troops can spread out. This involves mostly dodging and little shooting just to draw the planes as far away as possible. At this point the ground troops should get in a plane or jeep and quickly go to another base, usually not the ones closest to the home base because they are usually filled with enemy troops. If possible sneak to the enemy side of the map. Set up mines before taking control of the base so when they come to take it back its like you have extra troops there with you. I dont like this but another effective tactic is cranking out the air mines, especially over the base you just landed in. Base rapers tend to be very agressive and often rush in without looking closely. Sorry so long.

Great response Pocket. Long responses are good, so no worries. I like the air mines idea. I am not an air mine kinda guy, but it is useful in base rape situations. The team doing all the damage will be over confident and rush in without looking. We'll definitely have to practice these ideas next week. I think all of us will have fun with us, and if the time comes where are are getting hit hard in a GB battle against a superior opponent, this practice will help us.

i like pockets idea too....i also think this is a good way to practice the "Noodlez and Chile Suicide and Capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" idea we came up with when we first got the game..basically the idea is this...(i actualy tried to use this plan wit u guys b4..but u guys didnt kno wut i was talkin about lol) if we are in a situation where we are getting base raped...then 1 person flies out or drives out and head to the base the enemy captured nearest to us...take that base...and get going....meanwhile one by one..ppl press start and suicide themselves and spawn in other bases and spread out to capture evrything....then little by little while we kill them off in our base eventually they will only spawn at their own base and we culd b right there waiting for them with binoculars and tow missiles galore....it sounds kind of retarded i kno but this plan does work 90% of the time....as long as the communication is there its a sure thing specially in zones and team deathmatch...its also good in capture the flag but its VERY risky in that one

that is so funny, if im in a rape situation and see a base coming up on my map then i do the same thing, suicide and respawn at new base, it does work, quite well.

Good info Noodlez. I have always believed that the more bases you take away from the other team, the less resources they have. I guess playing Starcraft for so many years made me that way. If a team controls most of the bases in a map, they will have a large number of Warhawks, tanks, jeeps, binoculars etc etc. If we take those bases away from them, they lose all those materials and become exposed.
