I saw District 9. It's ok, but not this epic movie that people hype it up to be.
Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of men who follow and of the man who leads that gains the victory.

I could have made a better movie with $5. I was highly disappointed, the movie looked a lot cooler in commercials than it did while actually watching it.

I thought the movie was exceptional considering

A. it's meagre budget of 30 mill.
B. it's william blemkopf's first full length film.

dude. it was timely and entertaining and action orintated. i think it fits the clasic ray bradbury / asimov mold well not to say its not in its own sense origanal or an original take on the formual. i liked it. just not the newest idea ever. hell go back a cople hundred years and you have orwells war of the worlds.

i do in all matters agree TT i loved it and probably will watch it again soon. dude the cat food thing was just abstract crazziness. i liked that alot.

A. The main character, was whiny and always found a way to piss me off
B. It just seemed a bit boring to me.

I watched it with 2 other friends, and none of us liked it. I was expecting more action and a lot different type of a movie.

Really? i didn't look at it as an "action" movie, i took it as a suspense thriller, and i think it did it's job really well, i particularly enjoyed it's thematic qualities, i loved the parallels to the apartheid government regime in the 70's, loved the realism of the directing, and i especially loved the overall theme, as wikus becomes less human he becomes more humane, reminds me of blade runner a bit in that sense. Honestly all my friends who have seen it have loved it nearly as much as i did :yeh:. obviously opinions can't be argued but i still find it strange you and your friends didn't like it.

i have to agree what hit home for me was the not so thnly vieled anaolgy to the aprthied gov. it was almost too much.

Kat one thing is your supposed to like the main character at least 3/4 of a way in he is a strero typical douche archatype. he changes his motivation but i dont think learns anything
becase he did not have a choice in the end. so its interesting to me that he was forced into abuse but did not learn anything from it.

so in some ways a morality lesson.
