PBS doc on Andrew Jackson

pretty good and i was chocked full of sugar and fighting sugar coma durring it so i would recomend watching it if its on the PBS streaming site or when they put it on DVD. very sordid intriguing tale.

it was objective and interesting. lot of good stuff that never came to me in school

We actually spent a couple weeks studying Jackson. He was a pretty bad dude.

bad ass and pretty vicous and blood thirsty and not very admirable concerning treaties but yeah some actions like the battle of N.O. partnering with indians and pirates awesome.

Bad ass yes, but he clearly defied the court in their rulings and broke treaties upon treaties. If your going to get there don't always go the fastest, just go the proper way, whether that be fast or slow. He could have easily let them stay and expanded around them. They would have eventually fallen into the American culture.

how crazy is it that he went to war in FL without the contries consent and executed eU people becase they were british. ha not a man you wanted to duel with either.

yeah not a role model by any means but nothing is completely black and white good and bad. he is a very complex figure in history.

The EU execution was definitely crazy. Our history teacher was the one who told us about it. It was not in our old or new history textbooks surprisingly and those things aren't any Judy B. Jones books. It was also very hard to find on the internet. Amazing how some things are omitted from history books, where they belong.

History is selective and how it is presented can be rather anemic at times. what you get in school is a primer in my opinion to build in people a desire to go out and learn more and do research.
