java and vista dont play well together
here is the latest Java 6 debug build, which includes the fix for Vista's applet crashes.

Go to http://download.java.net/jdk6/ and download the offline installer (0.5 MB).

Uninstall previous Java 6, and install the one you downloaded.
only if you know what your doing

or just go here and get it over with so you will be all up to date
