god damn you dragons age

omg ok so i'm pretty far into the game and all of a sudden there is this optional boss battle. you have to fight this giant ass dragon, while it isn't mandatory, you can get a bunch of dragon scales from it and make some badass armor, so i really want it.

i've fought it like 5 times already on easy and just can't fucking beat it. within the first 5 mins my main character, my tank guy, and my rouge die and all i have left is a mage, so i fight the dragon with her for like 10 more mins and never get more than 3/4 of its health down before i die. this fuckin suck. AHHHAHAHAHAH

omg ok so i started the game today and just decided to give the dragon one more try and guess what.

ON THE FIRST TRY I FUCKIN PWNED HIM!!!! man it was sooooo sweet. i had my mage, my main guy, and my rogue all back shooting ice arrows and spells at him and i had my guy who is made of solid rock go up and just start smashing against the dragon. unfortunately since i was using the rock guy and not anyone else, i didn't get the sweet cut scene where one of the characters jumps up on top of the dragon and kills him, but i got some sweet loot any lots of xp so i'm happy

Nice who. I love fighting optional bosses. Ive killed the emerald weapon a few times. Dragons age sounds like a great game. I'll haven't seen any game play so i'll look it up on youtube.

yah its surprisingly simple but (for ps3 atleast) has some bugs.

the main attack is just x and if you press it once you go to the nearest enemy and start attacking and they you press the other buttons to do other attacks. and the good thing is that you can just have your hero start attacking and then switch to another character and have them do other stuff.

oh yah i also like the fact that as long as one of your squad is alive you dont' have to go back to your last save cuz you can just play as them. its helped me out a few times

Cool thanks for the tip who. i will not run upl and attack this guy. :-) i am really probably far away from this fight but yeah i hate having to invest time and continually lose.

i wound up picking my copy for the xbox becase i got some add on masseffect armor with purchase. meh 1/2 or 1/2 toss up but the mass effect add on armor swayed me to the 360 side.

yeah pretty much really diging this gabe. if you like rpgs .... i cant think of an example maybe dugenon seige that this is like but its not groud breaking or new just rock solid

oh yah i would have but 1. i don't play 360 that much and 2. i plan on getting mass effect for pc.

yah the first dragon you face is almost at the end of the sacred urn mission (you officially get it in redcliff) then you face a second one when morrigan asks you to kill flemeth. that one i beat on the first try.

oh btw when you get to redcliffe castle and you have the option of using the circle of magi or the blood mage, use the circle of magi, not only do you get better stuff, you can just go ahead and do the circle's mission too (which is long as hell)

so i dont know how the circle level will play out if i do go back there.

any and all tips appreciated. so far nothing stumping me and all battles pretty easy. i dont have my strategy quite down but with practice and once i get a full team i should imporve my organization. the free armor cant be worn by my elf magi. ha. i burned my mself. ha.

haha that suck. well you should be able to, you just gotta get your strength really high up.

oh btw after i killed the dragon, i got a dragon scale and with that i went to a smith in denerim and he made me, for free, a sweet set of armor, better that the one you get with the game (minus a helmet). definitely worth the time to kill the dragon

ok some tips:
if you see a drake, collect the scales, never sell them (can get custom armor made)

towards the end of the circle of magi quest you'll probably need a walkthrough to figure out how to do some of the first stuff, cuz its kinda confusing, just google it, you'll get tons of answers

try to keep leiani (sp?) with you and upgrade her lock pick skills so you won't have to waste points on yours, that way you'll be able to pick locks easily, also i mainly upgraded her archery stats and keep her as a long range player, she's pretty good at that

hmm what else...oh yah whenever you see a backpack for sale BUY IT (if you have enough cash) i can't tell you how many times i've had to drop loot just cuz i can't fit enough

don't spread your skill points (herbalism, poison, cohesion, etc.), keep one for each of your squad, that way you can still be a master at one thing and be able to have master skills in another (you can switch characters to make potions or traps if you ahve low skill

keep all gifts, some of them are quest items and when romance comes into play and you might have to break hearts, they really help out. and remember what everyone says about their likes, cuz presents you give them will gain you more points with some people than others (i.e. lelanni is all about religion and the maker and andraste, so if you give her a present involing that you'll get more likeness points)

if you start another campaign, try to go for soldier or rogue cuz with them you dont' really need the magic potions and they are worth tons of cash

haha sry if this is a lot. this is just some of the stuff i wish someone had told me when i started the game.

OK my complaint about locked rpg dialouge trees.


why is the baby mose thing sad lady?

dont know would you talk to it.?

you see the freaking mouse baby momma or daddy or whatever on the next map
it wont talk to you because you have not initiated some stupid thing and
the previous dialogue just meanders off into ether and you could physically carry a freaking 40 pound
dog in real life further then the distance the freaking albino mouse baby reindeer wanna be is in this Stupid game.

but you cant tell the stupid moose baby herder that you happened to see uncle moseys in the next map area because when
you switch maps your brain gets wiped and you forget a stupid albino mouse you saw 45 seconds ago.

GoD DamN you Albino were wolf moose baby.

its in the forest village of the elves who are having warewolve problems. there is a lady who tends to raindeer and she has one who is sad.

so far i've done the circle's main quest and now i'm moving on to the dwarves.

btw another tip, if you've gotten shale (special character, came with soem games) then make sure you take him when you go to the dwarves place. i think there are soem personal quests about him

dang no i did not get him or i have not opened him up or found him yet. i did get a free download but it seemed like an extra quest


how do i free the Quanari in the village north of the swamp witch. I swear i will need to go back after i level up and power up my Coercion ability

oh yah him. kinda a jackass but good with a greatsword. ok so you need to go talk to him and get a few dialogues in until it says something like i can get you free or something like that. then you need to go the the local chantry and talk to the main lady (far end of the building to the right). She'll ask for an offering and if you wanna be good or don't have high cohesion, giver her soem gold, but if you do then just say you don't have anything. Talk to her a bit and you'll be able to convince her to give you the key to his cell. then you can free him and "make" him join your party. just a warning, the guy is kinda a dick and its really hard to get his attitude towards you up. i find Alistair way more useful.

and with the shale quest, its definitely worth it. that guy is just a tank. even though i've gotten him killed a few times, he can be really helpful (especially with good crystals). Any crystals you find can be equipped to him giving him special defenses and special attacks. if/when you do the sacred urn mission, get a good fire crystal and bring him along. that way he'll have good fire defense from the dragon.

i love how this game lets you get so many add ons. when i can convince my mom to let me, i wanna buy the extra misssion from the guy at the camp, just to gets some xp and items

ha cool thanks who. i might not save that guy if he is a pain. the only dialouge left open to me is to kill him now. so i might let him rot.

i will search out the tank guy and see if i can pick him up. i got the furry of shale free wiht my copy. :-)

i am / was having fun but elf land quest is / can be fun but also a pain. minor love story plots and good fun plots and crazy hermits
and talking trees
but the freaking Moose lady is making me crazy.

yah i though the circle quest would be good, but it ended up sucking. Just before then end you have to go into this god damn room where you have to go on this giant side quest. took fucking forever cuz i didn't know what to do. ended up being completely stupid with a lame boss.

when you get to the sacred urn mission lemme know, there are tons of shit i wish i would have known before i did it

is the circle misson your talking about have to do with a mage in the fade and a demon. if so yeah kind of lame but it was funny to me that you had a rat buddy.

yah. i hated that mission. it took me forever to get through it. i had no idea what to do. i just kept going from one area to the next, without knowing i had to gather other characters. i had to look up a walkthorugh for it
