This was before any sort of laws prohibited this type of thing. The experiments done back in the 1900s to 1950s could be pretty cruel.

Here down under, before 1950 you could shoot aboriginals if the were on your property.. They were considered "not human"..

I am betting if you dig deep enough into any culture or society you will find some dark ugly rheprehenisable actions. The spatans kept slaves. Your last test as a boy was to quietly kill a slave without getting cought. Not saying we have a traditoin just a need to never forget. African tribes sold thier conqured neighbors to europeans. I dont think any remaing socitey can claim to be pure.
